Our client, an industry leading Tier-1 Automotive Manufacturer is seeking to add a proven Product Designer to their team for a permanent job opportunity in the West GTA. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design of mechanical parts and products including improving costs and product performance. The Product Designer’s Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Analyze, review and negotiate drawing changes
- Attend and participate in problem solving activities (Eg. 8 D, 7 Step, 5 Phase, etc.)
- Preparation of the DMFEA
- Write engineering change records
- 2-5 years of work experience in design (preferably plastic injection moulded parts and assemblies)
- Bachelor Degree or College Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Drafting experience required
- Extensive experience in 3D modeling
- Parts design experience
- Metal stamping experience
- Experienced working with MS Office, AutoCAD, Unigraphics (UG) and/or CATIA
